John Gaal is a long time Central New York resident, although his hometown is Merrick, New York on Long Island. For more than 40 years John was a partner at Bond, Schoeneck and King, practicing labor and employment law.
In the course of doing some legal work for AccessCNY legacy agency Transitional Living Services (TLS), John became aware of TLS’ high quality services. In his words, “Since first becoming a board member some 20 years ago, I have seen first hand how important TLS was, and AccessCNY is, to this community.”
John has served on the board since the merger of TLS and Enable. He is currently the second Vice President.

Q: What makes AccessCNY’s mission important to you?
A: “AccessCNY helps individuals with disabilities develop to become the very best they can be notwithstanding the challenges they face. In doing so, AccessCNY provides them, and their families, with not only needed resources but an important voice so that their needs and concerns can be heard. AccessCNY is a special place accomplishing very special things through an extremely caring and capable staff. I am very proud to be a part of this organization.”
