Social Work Counseling — Children

Social Work (SW) services provide individual and group counseling to participants, assisting them with processing their feelings. Master-level social workers work collaboratively with participants, their families and interdisciplinary teams to provide person-centered services from a holistic (biopsychosocial) perspective. Individuals can work on:

  • Social & healthy relationships
  • Anger management
  • Relaxation techniques
  • Grief
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Self-esteem & personal identity
  • Daily stressors
  • Understanding diagnoses

A variety of evidence-based, therapeutic techniques are utilized to help individuals develop coping skills and improve their overall wellbeing. Session frequency and treatment plans are determined through a social work evaluation and dependent on each individual’s current needs and life situation. This treatment plan is carried out during regularly scheduled appointments. As skills progress, the social worker will update the treatment plan with new goals.
