AccessCNY Raises $100,000 in Summer of Giving and Awareness
This summer, AccessCNY has featured two major fundraising events – the AccessCNY Annual Golf Classic, and Anything That Rolls. At this years golf tournament, the business community of Central New York gathered to raise nearly $55,000. “The tournament was a big success,” noted Matt Seubert, Associate Executive Director of Development and Communication. “Not only did we have a hole in one for the second year in a row, but we raised more funds than last years tournament, which was already a high water mark for us.”
On July 17th, Anything That Rolls attracted 600 community members who came out and rolled for access in the greater Syracuse community. Together, the rollers raised over $45,000 from asking friends, neighbors, and family to support them. “It’s really a beautiful thing,” Seubert said. “You see all different types of people coming together to support our cause. Some are persons with disabilities, some have family members who have limited mobility and some are friends and supporters. But when everyone gathers, it’s all about our shared message–that together we can change our community.”
“I cannot say thank you enough to this community for the support we have received,” said Executive Director Prudence York. “We have seen such an incredible response from supporters, donors, and friends. When you see people coming together to support access in Central New York, you can’t help but be inspired.”
