AccessCNY was created to meet the unmet needs of the community and 75 years later the agency is innovating again. Today, the mental health needs of children are at a crisis point and AccessCNY is ready to meet the need.

In 2024 AccessCNY will break ground on a $5.1 million, eight bedroom Children’s Mental Health Center. The program will serve kids from 11 to 17 with a mental health or dual diagnoses who have been boarding in the hospital. Our Children’s Mental Health Center will provided continued site-based support for children who require transitional care prior to returning home.

The home will provide:

Serve 8 kids between the ages of 11-17
Support kids for up to 120 days after a hospitalization
Provide Intensive case management
Continue the child’s education
Work with kids from Onondaga, Oswego, Cayuga, Cortland and Madison counties

The building will feature:

7,500 square foot residential setting
Eight individual bedrooms
Shared kitchen, dining, living & activity areas
Indoor sensory gym
Multiple counseling spaces
Educational learning space
Playground and basketball court
Enclosed courtyard
