Community Habilitation

Community Habilitation serves individuals with developmental disabilities, providing instruction in daily skills necessary for independence.  Each participant has an individualized plan that outlines the skills they would like to develop further.  These skills may include:

  • Community inclusion
  • Money management
  • Situational safety
  • Housekeeping
  • Use of public transportation
  • Conflict resolution and communication
  • Boundaries and relationships
  • Self advocacy
  • Time management
  • Personal hygiene
  • Diet and exercise
  • Civic responsibilities and volunteerism

Direct Support Professionals work with participants in their home and in the community to build a network of support.
