More than thirty five years ago, Sue Schultz started at AccessCNY legacy agency Enable as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in the Day Treatment program. Sue quickly worked her way up the leadership ladder, becoming a supervisor in the Day Treatment program and a Program Coordinator for developmental disability housing services.
In 2001, Sue began AccessCNY’s compliance program. She served in this role until 2017 when she was promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO). As COO, Sue heads some of AccessCNY’s most important efforts, including many aspects of the agency’s pandemic response.

Q: Why is AccessCNY’s mission important to you?
A: “I have known some of our participants for over three decades and have been able to watch them grow and achieve their goals. I believe the people we provide services to deserve the same opportunities that we all are given and I think AccessCNY staff do an amazing job providing those opportunities, providing the highest quality services, and treating people with dignity and respect.”
